Leo Badminton Tournament

It was a service for youth.It was a contribution for sports.It was a project where the vision of Leoism was carried in to effect. The Inter Club Leo Badminton Tournament , amazing massive project where number of participants exceeded 65.

The Leos were running here and there, Some were warming themselves up. Some were getting registered . And some were practicing. Several Leos from Polgasowita stood by the entrance and got each and every player registered.

This was not just another badminton tournament. Only men’s double and women's double were allowed to play.It was highly competitive, since it’s inception.

The referees had a hard time in judging the per-formance of these teams, played shoulder to shoulder.It was a knock out series and far enough to increase the competi-tiveness of matches in the latter stages.

Many Leos exhibited their superb performance . Among those Leo Shamitha Jayaweera, Leo Buddhika Jayasooriya of L/C of Mathumagala and Leo Bimalka Lokugamage of L/C of Piliyandala and Leo Chathurika Fernando of L/C of Moratuwa Orient were lucky enough to play for the women’s double finals. Both the teams played well. And the utmost result was Leo Chathurika and Leo Bimlaka was able to grab the cup ; they were the champs.

For the men’s double, Leo Sandeep Fernando, Leo Irindu Upasiri of L/C of Moro-tuwa and Leo Prabhath Jayasooriya, Leo Mi-lanka Pathirana of L/C of Morortuwa Orient, started firing each other .

When one team fired the second team blocked and when the second team fired the first team blocked. Finally Leos of Moratuwa Orient emerged as champions.
